Covid-19 -- the legal implications

The full legal implications of the actions taken by the Washington state governor (Mr. Inslee) are not yet fully analyzed. It seems clear that the Washington state Constitution as well as the U.S. Constitution are being stretched and pulled. We have a right to assemble. There is always a balance and query whether this situation of a spreading virus tips the balance in restricting our rights?

The legal experts have not yet commented on this issue, but I am sure it is coming. Keep a watchful eye. We have an obligation to hold our leaders accountable to following the law or risk losing our rights in less exigent circumstances.

Washington State legal news

Landlords and Tenants need to educate themselves on the new Landlord/Tenant laws that went into effect on July 28, 2019. The changes are many and significant. For example, if a Tenant fails to pay rent, the Landlord can no longer serve a “3-Day” notice, but must now give a “14-Day” notice to pay rent or vacate. That and many other changes will have a significant impact on residential leases and even ownership.
